I’ve made the decision to move platforms so if you are a subscriber please come find me in the new place, Substack where I am the same Oracle still writing the hierophanies.
Subscribe to Hierophanies for Our Times. If you already are over on Substack for things this won’t be that hard for you. If you’re not, well, Substack will make the transition pretty easy for you especially if you only read my content through email [you’re not even going to notice].
Slowly, which is to say before my subscription expires over here on WordPress [July], I will be moving my content from here to there. So you don’t need to feel like you have to leave here immediately, but all the new stuff is going to be over there.
There are a lot of reasons for the move but the main one is that Substack is a better platform for writers to connect with audiences specifically looking for writing [other reasons are less overhead for me, more built in sharing options, subscriber tailoring, and other network effects, etc.]. That was the thing I mostly wanted to achieve when I started this blog in 2020: a connection to my audience. I certainly have some subscribers here on this site who I know read my writing [and I appreciate you: please come with me!] but WordPress hasn’t helped me branch out to anyone I didn’t I already know [mostly just bots]. Engagement is also difficult here because most people don’t have WordPress accounts and they don’t comment or share. Mostly, this platform makes me feel like I am shouting out into the void and no one is there, even if email open analytics tell me that some people are there.
I have an introductory post over there called In medias res, um, welcome to my Substack and more content will come soon. I’m hoping to make a space for myself where it is easier to click publish because I am spending less time doing website stuff and more time just writing.
